Amir Khan Eyes Boxing Return to Face Jake Paul

Amir Khan, the former unified super-lightweight champion, is considering a comeback from retirement for an intriguing showdown with influencer-turned-boxer Jake Paul.

Jake Paul has carved a notable niche for himself in the influencer boxing scene, claiming victories over UFC legends like Nate Diaz, Anderson Silva, and Tyron Woodley. With only one blemish on his record, a split decision loss to Tommy Fury, Paul is yet to face a seasoned boxer inside the ring. However, Amir Khan aims to change that narrative. In a recent interview on Heart Breakfast with Jamie and Amanda, Khan expressed his eagerness to step out of retirement and take on Jake Paul, citing a desire to “beat up” the influencer despite his own retirement last year following a knockout loss to Kell Brook.

“I think the way he conducts himself, the way he acts, and he’s just full of himself as well, and he thinks he can fight. He’s only been boxing for like a year, so yeah, I’d love to fight him,” Khan stated. “He’s been very lucky though. He’s a little bit heavier than me, but I don’t mind putting the pounds on just to beat him up.”

While Jake Paul holds a significant height and reach advantage, Khan remains undeterred by these physical disparities.

As of now, there is no official announcement regarding Jake Paul’s next opponent. However, a potential bout with British rapper KSI could be on the horizon, contingent on the outcome of KSI’s match against Tommy Fury.

Notably, former UFC champion Luke Rockhold has also expressed a keen interest in facing Jake Paul and has gone as far as guaranteeing victory, even putting his entire paycheck on the line for the opportunity. It seems that Jake Paul’s charisma and success have attracted no shortage of challengers, making his next opponent one of the most anticipated announcements in the world of boxing.
