Ferrari Announces Launch Dates for 2024 Car Amidst High Stakes

December 18, 2023 4:56 pm

Team principal Frederic Vasseur revealed the launch plans for Ferrari’s upcoming Formula 1 car, providing insight into the unveiling of the 2024 car, codenamed 676, a day before the Valentine’s Day launch of the SF-23.

“The launch will take place on the 13th of February, the day before the Valentine’s Day,” disclosed Vasseur, teasing the details about the car’s name and more to be unveiled on that day.

Explaining the rationale behind the earlier launch date, Vasseur quipped, “Why? Because we will have one day more before the [Bahrain pre-season] test. No, it’s quite tight, more seriously. We have the test a bit before [its 2023 slot] and it’s quite a challenge to put everything together.”

Acknowledging the tight timeline, Vasseur highlighted the difficulty of coordinating the car’s development to align with the Bahrain pre-season test, admitting that other teams are also facing similar challenges. Follow your favourite F1 team with attractive F1 betting odds from Nextbet.

The anticipation surrounding Ferrari’s SF-23 in 2023 didn’t translate into the expected success, with Red Bull dominating most of the races, save for Carlos Sainz’s win in Singapore.

Reflecting on the past season’s letdown, Vasseur noted the team’s determination to avoid setting lofty expectations for 2024. “I don’t have to promise something. The best way is to be focused on what we are doing to deliver,” he remarked, emphasizing the importance of tangible performance over mere promises.

When prodded by the Italian media for assurances about the 2024 season, Vasseur remained cautious. “We’ll see in March if it will be the Easter gift,” he remarked, underscoring the team’s commitment to showcasing their performance through action rather than pledges.

Despite Ferrari’s third-place finish in the previous season, Vasseur highlighted the team’s resilience and improvement in the latter half of the year. He expressed pride in the team’s collective effort, citing a commendable reaction following a challenging start to the season.

With Ferrari gearing up for the unveiling of their 2024 car, the spotlight remains on the team’s ability to translate their efforts into competitive prowess as they aim to bounce back stronger in the upcoming Formula 1 campaign. Get the latest updates from the world of F1 only on Nextbet Sports
