Roma boss Rudi Garcia has promised that his side will adopt an attacking approach when they take on Juventus at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday.
The Giallorossi have finished runners up to the Turin-based side in each of the last two Serie A campaigns and the 51-year-old is determined to set an early marker in this season’s title race.
La Maggica have not beaten the Old Lady in any of their last four league meetings and they could only manage a draw in the opening match of the new season against Verona last week.
The point did turn out to be a better result than it could have been after the defending champions lost 1-0 at home to Udinese in their first league match and Garcia is desperate to take the game to Massimiliano Allegri’s side.
He said: “It is a massive game – the sort we all like to be involved in. It’s strange to be playing it in just the second week. We must play to win and make home advantage count for us.”
The capital outfit have added a number of players to their squad during the close season, with the likes of Edin Dzeko, Mohamed Salah and Lucas Digne all arriving in Rome and Garcia is happy with the options he has going into the game.
“We’ll start off with one system and have a few ideas if we want to change mid-game,” he added. “We must maintain our balance and be smart about when to spread play and when to get it forward quickly.”
