Watch out Sevilla, here comes Lionel Messi again!
All eyes will be on Messi when he strides back to action for Barcelona on Thursday.
The Barca talisman, as usual, will lead the Catalan side’s La Liga campaign against Sevilla at Camp Nou.
Messi was not around when Barca blasted Granada 4-1 in their last league game because of a one-match suspension.
He will be a major problem for Jorge Sampaoli’s men, having found the back of the net six times in Sevilla’s last four visits at Barca’s lair.
Also, Messi has so far bombarded the Andalusian with 21 career goals in their head-to-head matchups.
Presently, holders Barca are two points behind league leaders Real Madrid having played a game more.
Madrid have 68 points, while Barca tote 66. Sevilla are fourth with 58, behind Atletico Madrid, also with 58, on goal difference.
Starting with this battle against Sevilla, this will be an important stretch of games for Barca over the next few weeks.
After Sevilla, they also face Juventus in their Champions League quarter-final, Malaga and fifth-place Real Sociedad in the league, and Real Madrid in the Clasico.
Barca are bent on overtaking Real for the lead that’s why manager Luis Enrique warned his team not to underestimate Sevilla, noting they need the necessary points to achieve their goal.
Messi will not be the biggest source of worry for Sevilla. They should also contain Luis Suarez and Neymar.
Tough, tough task indeed for Sampaoli and his wards.
