Sebastian Vettel believes Ferrari can make great strides during 2017 thanks to their new SF70-H car.
Vettel and team-mate Kimi Raikkonen debuted the car at Ferrari’s private Fiorano circuit on Friday, with the Scuderia using one of their allotted promotional days to showcase the SF70-H.
The new model has certainly had an instant impact on Vettel, who believes the car will prove to be a big hit. “You can see it is a step forward and you can feel it is a step forward,” said Vettel.
“It is fun to drive. The car looks big and strong.” The German believes first impressions are always crucial, with the new car to be put through its paces further during next week’s first pre-season testing in Barcelona.
Raikkonen is also a fan of the new model although he knows the real test will now come in Spain. “It was just a first touch and the main work starts in Barcelona, but so far, so good,” Raikkonen stated.
Ferrari finished third in the Constructors’ Championship during 2016, 367 points behind champions Mercedes, with their last world title coming in 2008.
The Scuderia are priced at 10.00 to end their search for a title during 2017, while Mercedes are available at 1.60 to claim a fourth successive constructors’ crown.
