Chris Davies expecting Celtic to kick on

Celtic assistant manager Chris Davies believes the club have proved they have the best squad in the country but he has warned their rivals they will only get better.

New Rangers coach Pedro Caixinha claimed this week he had the best players in Scotland before confirming he plans to fight for silverware both domestically and in Europe.

Celtic could be crowned champions on Sunday at Dundee if Aberdeen slip up at Hearts but Davies is already planning for next season.

The Hoops are 33 points clear of the Dons and they could win the Scottish Premiership in record time, while they also are also chasing a record points total.

Davies has laughed off Caixinha’s recent comments and he has now warned the rest of the division that they plan to continue their total dominance.

He told the Daily Record: “Everyone can have their own opinion on what they think. I think it’s pretty clear for anybody looking at the league, where it’s at.

“We have certainly had an incredible season judging by that comment. But we’re fine, we’re focused on ourselves, we do our talking on the pitch and we take care of business on the pitch and we’ll always be that way.

“We have no interest in what they (Rangers) are doing. It’s just ‘how can we get better, can we be the best we can be, can we improve our squad, can we improve our play, can we be even better next year’ and other teams can do what they want.

“No interest. It’s just about us being the best we can be.”
