Cisse’s agent hints at Newcastle exit

Papiss Cisse’s agent has revealed he will ask the Senegal international to consider any offer that may come in before the close of the transfer window due to the lack of love being shown to him by Newcastle United.

The 30-year-old arrived at St James’ Park back in January 2012 from Freiburg and became an instant hit with the fans after scoring an impressive 13 goals in 14 appearances.

The following season was not as impressive as the striker only managed to find the back of the net twice in the Premier League from 24 outings but he returned to form last season.

Cisse notched 11 goals to help Newcastle avoid relegation but the first-team opportunities have been limited so far this term under new head coach Steve McClaren.

The Senegalese has started two games but new summer signing Aleksandar Mitrovic has been getting the nod from the former England manager recently.

This has not sat well with Madou Diene, the agent of Cisse, and the former admits his client could leave St James’ Park before the close of the transfer window.

He told the Newcastle Chronicle: “If the right offer comes I will ask Papiss to consider it. Nobody wants to be at a club where you don’t feel wanted. There has been no offer from Galarasaray yet, it is only talk in the media. But there has been nothing concrete. Perhaps if there was it would be considered because at Papiss’s age he wants to play regular football.

“No matter which team he plays for he needs service because he will score goals. During him time at Newcastle, he’s never had proper service which makes his goal tally even more remarkable. As long as Papiss is here he will score goals. He can’t do that if he’s sitting on the bench.”
