The agent of Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain insists his client is happy at the club and is not interested in a move away from the Stadio San Paolo.
The Argentina international has been in sparkling form for the Partenopei so far this season, scoring 11 goals in 15 appearances in all competitions.
The 27-year-old’s goals have helped lift the club to within two points of the Serie A summit and they also boast a 100 percent record after four matches in this season’s Europa League group stage.
Club president Aurelio De Laurentiis has slapped a €100million price tag on the head of the former Real Madrid player in the past to ward off any interested parties, with Arsenal believed to be keen on the South American.
His agent and brother Nicolas Higuain has now insisted that his client would like to remain in Naples, even if a club matches the price asked by Napoli.
He said: “We’re doing really well with Napoli. If tomorrow a club arrived and found an agreement with De Laurentiis it would be another matter and we would talk with him about it, but from our part that intention isn’t there. We aren’t planning a future elsewhere.”
A lack of Champions League football had led to speculation regarding the striker’s future, but with Maurizio Sarri’s side seemingly in a strong position to challenge for the Scudetto this season, his agent has dismissed any such talk.
He continued: “Gonzalo has had a dream of winning something big with this team from the day he first set foot in Naples. This year, we are confident: the team is doing well, they play with more intensity, they’re more organised.”
