Youtube personality turned boxing star Jake Paul has hit out at KSI after his new opponent was announced and he will be taking on Dillon Danis, who is legendary UFC champion Conor McGregor’s teammate.
Olajide Olayinka Williams “JJ” Olatunji, also known as KSI, is very famous on social media. He first made a name for himself on his personal channel and his exploits with Sidemen, a highly successful British YouTube group made up of seven members.
KSI began making music and rapping in 2015 and released his debut studio album, Dissimulation, five years later in 2020. He is also the owner of several businesses and chains including Prime Hydration energy drink which has partnered with Arsenal, as well as XIX Vodka, and a restaurant chain called Sides.
KSI also began boxing in 2017, fighting with Joe Weller and then twice with Jake Paul’s brother Logan in 2018 and 2019. The second match between Paul and KSI was a professional boxing bout. On 27 August 2022, he was involved in two professional crossover boxing bouts against British rapper Swarmz and Mexican boxer Luis Alcaraz Pineda on the same night.
KSI is set to take on Dillon Danis on 14 January 2023 at the Wembley Arena and the fight was announced barely three days ago. Before the fight had even been announced, KSI had hyped the event and had talked up his opponent’s abilities while calling the American ‘dangerous.’
Jake Paul took issue with what KSI had said and tweeted: “‘Has beaten a lot of people.
“You are ‘boxing’ a guy who has two MMA fights in his entire career and the last one of those was 3.5 years ago.”
To make matters even worse, Paul began to explain that KSI should actually take on Tyron Woodley instead, as he recently explained he has a contract to fight KSI. Paul talked down KSI saying that he is too scared to take on that challenge right now.
“Should have fought Woodley but you ain’t got the balls,” added Paul.
KSI and Danis clashed at the weigh-ins for Sunday morning’s Misfits card, with the latter punching the former in a heated scuffle. There were also verbal spars between the pair as Danis asked KSI on stage: “Do you want me to choke you out right here?” and KSI responded: “No, you don’t need to, but I could knock you out if I wanted to.”
