Neymar Keen to Commit

Barcelona forward Neymar has admitted he is keen to extend his time at the Nou Camp despite recent speculation that he might leave due to tax issues.

Neymar joined the Blaugrana in 2013 for a fee of €57.1million from Brazilian outfit Santos and has since established himself as a key figure.

The 23-year-old has netted 45 times in 71 games and has really kicked on in 2015-16 as Barcelona had to cope without star man Lionel Messi for around two months.

Neymar along with Luis Suarez have scored regularly to help Barcelona climb to the top of the table as they bid to defend the title they claimed as part of a treble last term.

Barcelona further extended their lead at the top with a 4-0 win over Real Sociedad on Saturday with Neymar scoring twice.

The forward insists he wants to remain with the Spanish giants long-term putting to bed any rumours that he could leave due to tax troubles.

Neymar said: “It’s true that my father told me the tax issues were a problem, but we’re talking all that over.

“I’m still under contract [with Barca], and my intention is to sign a renewal, of course.”

“I’m in the prime of my career. I’m very happy with everything I’m experiencing as I’m helping my teammates in the same way they’ve helped me. I hope I can improve further.”

“I think our qualities allow [Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and I] to play together.”

“I was looking for Messi [so he could get his goal]. We’re always trying to help each other, and I’m very happy with Messi and Suarez.”
