Raul Rosas Jr set to square off against Christian Rodriguez at UFC 287 

Raul Rosas Jr has been a name on everybody’s lips in the UFC circuit lately, having become the youngest-ever fighter to sign a professional contract with the MMA company. The 18-year-old has made huge inroads lately in his MMA career and has garnered massive attention right from his first fight. He currently leads 7-0 in his short career since signing for the company last year. 

Former UFC champion Anthony Pettis, who represents Rodriguez under the Showtime Group agency, confirmed that Raul Rosas Jr will lock horns with Christian Rodriguez in the pentagon at UFC 287. Although the location has not been confirmed yet, the player is really pumped up for this massive test in this pay-per-view card. 

Rosas hails from Mexico but has settled in the USA and is now an American citizen. He defeated Mando Gutierrez on Dana White’s Contender Series, which earned him his debut UFC contract. He went on to defeat Jay Perrin on his debut with the promotion and he did it some style, via a first-round submission during the UFC 282 last December.  

This victory put him on the headlines of multiple publications, as he had become the youngest fighter to win at the UFC. He was sainted and celebrated by multiple fans who see him as the next big thing in the sport. He also bought his mother a minivan with his earnings from this victory, a really heartwarming moment for the youngster just about making his name. 

This challenge might perhaps be the toughest one for Rosas as yet, with the experience that Christian Rodriguez brings to the table. Rodriguez, who holds a terrific 8-1 record in his UFC career so far, is coming off a first-round submission win over Joshua Weems in October. Hailing from Milwaukee, the 25-year-old fighter trains out of Roufusport in his home state and has registered some big wins so far in his career.

Rosas, for his young age exploits, has been termed “El Nino Problema” by the fans for the exceptional confidence has shown. He is aiming to beat the reigning champion Aljamain Sterling over the course of the next few years and could gather much wider attention if he can pull off a victory over Rodriguez.
